FS#12 - omap850: current version 2.6.25 gives problems with udev

udev needs at least kernel version 2.6.27 (specified in the README file provided at sources).
There are some error messages while booting 2.7-test1:

error getting socket: invalid argument
initiaizing netlink socket error
udevadm [382]: error sending message: Connection refued.

Then devices nodes aren't created and we got this too:
fsck.ext2: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/mmcblk0p2

I assume you are talking about udev as it is in 2.7 release (udev-167), so if that's right, IMHO we could try this:

1. Find the last version of udev without errors/problems (from upper to lower 166, 165, 164, ... until 141 in 2.6)
2. Create a ports collection per device (ports/omap850.git) and freeze udev on it (to the result version from 1.)
3. Add udev info about changes to wiki/ReleaseNotes in omap850/htc-prophet section

in addition we just could try a udev replacement like mdev
